Spend your time to learn how the school operates and discover how sharp your sensory skills are through the mini game with the Aroma Kit. Also, your trip brings you to the famous over 70 years old Vot Cafe where locals come for 24 hours to enjoy their coffee. Sit on the small stool and sip the coffee brewed from the cotton filter bag which has been popular in Sai Gon since 1950. Take a morning drive to Ben Tre, an island province renowned for its coconuts. Board a local boat for a cruise on the Ben Tre River. Stop and gain more knowledge of the production of bricks, coconut candies and other coconut products by the local cottage industries. Take a break from the boat journey and take a walk to a house where they produce sedge mats. While strolling, explore the flora and fauna as well as experience the Mekong Delta characteristics of generosity and frankness. Learn weaving techniques while tasting a great variety of tropical fruits. Your day will continue with a Xe Loi ride, a local cart drawn by motorbike, to a farmer’s home for lunch. After the meal, relax and take a sampan ride on a quiet creek to the boat for a cruise back to the pier. Return to Ho Chi Minh City. [Lunch] 

VN75H Ben Tre: Tam Hiep Island (FD) 

Our excursion leaves the bustle Ho Chi Minh City behind as we travel to the rural area of the Mekong Delta. On our way, we will pass through the landscape of rice paddies and vast waterways.

On the journey we will travel by motorboat to experience how locals make their living along the riverbank like processing coconut, making coconut charcoal. Disembark and start cycling on the island roads to a farm that grows Suong Sam – a native plant in Southeast Asia which is used mostly in local refreshments. Pick the leaves and learn how to make Suong Sam, a dessert jelly. Enjoy a typical Mekong delta lunch served at a villager’s house. The excursion also includes a sampan ride through a canal lined with water coconut palms to the main Mekong River.  Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City or next destination.
